Wikipedia has taken action against a range of congressional IP addresses—banning them for the next week from making posts or edits at the site. The controversy originated when the Lowell Sun Online published an article highlighting US Representative Marty Meehan's blantant revisions of historical campaign details to post an official bio. The "official" bio removed all controversial points in the original wikipedia entry.
Meehan's alterations lead to the discover of over 1000 modifications to Wikipedia made by congressional staffers. The modifications not only adjusted various Congressional representatives bios, but touched political organizations and political activist with often inaccurate and biased information.
